The date format in the guild dump posted is: 12/21/05 aka MM/DD/YY, exactly what the roster expects.
This date is then changed into the database date format YYYY-MM-DD.

I can't see what would go wrong here, except if your database date format is different from YYYY-MM-DD.

Could that be why you have to change the date format?

Oh btw Lukeren, could you either run the database update script, or manually change the HP, MANA and Endurance fields in the Characters database table to mediumint (instead of smallint)?

I just noticed that this wasn't updated correctly in the version of the database creation script for a clean roster install.

My apologies

I changed it manually after doing the first update.
HP and mana is imported fine, the endurance fields are simply empty.

A buddy told me that he avoids date fields like the plague in mySQL, since he has seen lots of problems with them over time in PHP apps he wrote. He adviced me to use a datetime field instead.

The good thing about a datetime field is that it's basically just a large number (the amount of milliseconds since a certain date), and therefor is much faster for access and to sort on.

I will update the database table and change the import.
That should make the code more robust in that area.

EDIT: I did an experiment with it, and it brakes more then it fixes.
So I'm leaving it as is for now.

So it does ;)

Any news on the script for import that could be scheduled? :)
